We always try to encourage our guests to shop locally and although Instow is only a small seaside village, there is still plenty for you.
John's of Instow this famous local store is stocked with a fabulous deli counter serving a lovely range of pates, cold meats and cheeses. They carry a good selection of wines and beers and fresh bread is baked every day. Also in stock is a good range of local food. This really is the perfect corner shop!
Hockings Ice Cream Once you have tried this local ice-cream (made across the river in Appledore) you will know why everybody raves about it. It really is the best local ice cream I have tasted. The van is parked on Instow seafront everday from morning till the sun goes down.
Waterside Gallery This small gallery is an important outlet for some of the talented artists, potters and craftsmen of North Devon whose work is often inspired by the beauty of the area.
Local Farm Box – local food delivered to your door. A great scheme based just a few miles away from Instow. Local Farm Box mission is to act as a sales window for the district's farmers, growers and producers, and offer the general public the best quality and best value for money fresh produce available in the area. Purchasing your fresh vegetables, fruits, salads, meats, and dairy products from Local Farm Box means that you will be directly contributing to the local economy - helping to put the £ back into local producers' pockets.
